What's New for 2023?

This three-row SUV has a redesigned exterior that includes a new grill design and revised lighting. A vertical 11.6-inch touchscreen has replaced the 6.5-inch and optional 8-inch infotainment screens from previous years. Apple and Android connections are now standard, and Subaru's driver assistance features improve with the EyeSight safety suite. There's also an optional 360-degree camera and in-cabin speaker system to easily communicate with those in the rear.

Power and Performance

Subaru's trademark all-wheel drive system follows the 2023 Subaru Ascent for maximum traction support in all road and weather conditions. The only available engine for the Ascent, a 2.4L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine, releases 260 horsepower at full throttle. This setup will give you an EPA-estimated 26/20 MPG city/highway. And what's a Subaru if it doesn't go off-road every now and then?

So, when those off-road adventures call, your Subaru will answer with 8.7 inches of ground clearance and the standard X-MODE. This off-road feature will optimize the all-wheel drive system for maximum traction on slippery surfaces. Also included with this specialized drive mode is hill descent control and the dual-function X-MODE for even more capability. And when it's time to pull the camper trailer or speedboat, you'll have a max towing capacity of 5,000 lbs.

Interior Space and Comfort

The 2023 Subaru Ascent offers a seven or eight-seat setup. You can fit eight with the middle-row bench available in select trims. Or, you can opt for the second-row captain's chairs and fit seven inside your cabin. All in all, you can have up to 153.2 cubic feet of passenger volume. For enhanced comfort, you can upgrade to one of the top two trims. They come with standout features like temperature-controlled front seats, heated rear seats, memory driver's seats, and leather-trimmed upholstery.

Technology

The upgraded STARLINK multimedia package includes Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ at the base level. Also included with every model is a massive 11.6-inch touchscreen with a vertical position.
